In September 2014 our then 4 year old princess Isla was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and her treatment will not finish until October this year.  Throughout it all, Isla has been a true hero, an inspiration to all of us.  She has faced long, painful and toxic treatment all in her stride and with a smile on her face.  She has been the one that has picked us up when we were down.  She had and will have side effects of the treament for years to come and has words in her vocabulary that no child should understand, let alone say, like cannula, bloods, chemo and cancer.  But due to research, studies and brilliant medical care, Isla has a good chance of being cured.

In a small effort, I'm using Isla as my inspiration to raise funds for the Children's Cancer Institute so hopefully in our lifetime, no child will have to know what these words mean.

I am going to cycle as many kms as I possibly can in 12 hours to help cure childhood cancer! I am going to endure for a cure!

Endure for a Cure is a unique closed-circuit, team endurance cycling challenge to raise money for kids who endure the challenge of cancer treatment.

It won’t be easy, 12 hours in the saddle. But with your support, I can do it!

All proceeds of the event go to Children’s Cancer Institute, the only independent medical research institute in Australia wholly dedicated to putting an end to childhood cancer. Every year more than 950 children and adolescents in Australia are diagnosed with cancer. These children endure painful treatment and lifelong side-effects.
